Will BEST NETGUARD™ hurt my computer?
NO, BEST NETGUARD™ complex solid state circuitry causes no surging or computer problems.
Can my child continue to work on the computer when their disconnected from the internet?
YES, BEST NETGUARD™ only disconnects the computer from the internet not the power source all typing and printing is still functional.
How do I know when my computer is connected to the internet when using BEST NETGUARD™?
When the small Green LCD light on your receiver is lit, which is connected to your Ethernet cable, than you know that you are connected to the internet. When the green light is off, you internet connection has been terminated.
Can my child bypass BEST NETGUARD™?
NO, BEST NETGUARD™ comes with a tamper indicating locking device.
What if I lose the remote?
Simply order another one online. Accessories can be purchased separately
How logn is the Ethernet cable that is supplied?
The Ethernet cable is 6 feet long.
Can I control the internet connection on multiple computers with 1 Keyfob?
| Yes, since all of Best NetGuard units have the same code/signal and have a range of approximately 75ft. You can control as many computers as you want within a 75ft. area with one keyfob as long as each computer has its own modem. Unless, all your computers are working off one main computer/modem then all you need is one Best NetGuard unit. |
How do I change the code/signal if I want to control 2 computers individually in the same home or office?
Since all of Best NetGuard units have the same code/signal when manufactured and have a range of approximately 75ft. You will need to change the code on one of the units to keep them from interfering with each other. The way to do this consists of 3 easy steps;
- Open the receiver casing which is connected to the Ethernet cable and the matching remote control keyfob casing using a small Phillips head screwdriver.
- After both casings are open, you will see a row of 8 tiny switches in both the receiver and the keyfob which are numbered 1 thru 8.
- You must then change the switches on both the receiver and the keyfob to match one another. This can easily be done by changing only one switch, lets say you change switch number 1 on both the receiver and the keyfob. This will give you 2 Best NetGuard units with different codes/signals that can be used in the same home without interfering with each other.
Can Bestnetguard work on a wireless laptop with wi-fi capabilities?
No, Bestnetguard was made for desktop computers with an Ethernet cable internet connection. It is only effective with laptop computers when they are hard wired with an Ethernet cable and don’t have wi-fi capabilities.
